The human encounter is my primary concern. In the manner of narrative paintings, I paint the moments that I share with people who fascinate me by their very presence. Inspired by their personalities, their thoughts and their actions, I translate our interaction onto canvas. Now more mature and receptive, the quest for authenticity has been transformed. The presence of the character on the canvas is cleared to make way for signs, environnement and trace of its path.
To better explain my process, I often compared to a journalist. Its mandate is to pass the new in words. For me, as a painter, I translate the information acquired on the canvas. In interviews, I photograph peoples or places to capture the spontaneous authenticity and to freeze in time expressions and moments.
In my creative process, current affairs and sociology make up an increasingly important part of work. Currently, I am looking for the adventurer who has the vital need to explore the unknown, to the point of risking his or her own life.
